What happens when being asked about somebody’s performance, knowledge or skills you say they are nothing special?
That other people are far better and you don’t really think the person can do as good a job as others, even though his/her resume looks pretty good?
If your opinion were essential for that person’s hiring (because you’re the one who knows them best), do you think they would still get the job?
Do you think the others would still be interested to know more after that?
Yet, how often do you do this when it’s YOU the person you recommend?
I know the impostor syndrome prevents you from proudly displaying your skills and accomplishments.
But can you at least stop sabotaging yourself?!
It’s not fair towards the others, because they lose the chance of working with you, benefiting from your unique approach and experience.
And it’s not fair towards yourself, because not only you miss good opportunities, but you’re stifling your gifts, your dreams, your talents.
In this busy day and age many times we don’t get another chance beyond the initial impression.
Can you at least give yourself the chance to show your value?
To let others discover you?
Are you willing to lift the veil?
Is Fear Of Being Judged Running Your Life?
Would you like to start doing what YOU want instead of what others choose for you?
